The 20 Best X-Men Movie Quotes from the Whole Series
These are X-Men movie quotes taken from every film in the blockbuster X-Men series. With the release of X-Men: Apocalypse this summer, the X-Men film series is on the minds of comic and film fans once again.

All three of the original X-Men movies are highly quotable, featuring great one-liners, compellingly snappy dialogue, and even monologues from superheroes and supervillains alike. The prequel trilogy that kicked off with 2011's X-Men: First Class continues in the same style, providing Marvel's merry mutants with lots of quotable lines.

Read on for some of the best X-Men movie quotes from all three X-Men films. If your favorite X-adventures are X2: X-Men United or X-Men: The Last Stand, this list has what you're looking for and more. If you love the newer movies, you're in luck because the list covers all the way up to X-Men: Days of Future Past and even includes X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The 20 Best X-Men Movie Quotes from the Whole Series,

Mutation (X-Men)
Professor X: "Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, and normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward."

Ah, Professor Xavier. You explain everything so easily - even complicated genetic mutation stuff.

The War Has Begun (X2: X-Men United)
Magneto: "Charles Xavier. Have you come to rescue me?"
Professor X: "Sorry, Eric. Not today."
Magneto: "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
Professor X: "The assassination attempt on the president. What do you know about it?"
Magneto: "Nothing. Only what I read in the papers. You really shouldn't have to ask, Charles."
Professor X: "What's happened to you?"
Magneto: "I've had frequent visits from William Stryker. You remember him, don't you?"
Professor X: "William Stryker."
Magneto: "His son, Jason, was once a student of yours, wasn't he?"
Professor X: "Yes. Years ago. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to help him... at least not in the way his father wanted."
Magneto: "And now you think that taking in the Wolverine will make up for your failure with Stryker's son. You haven't told him about his past, have you?"
Professor X: "I've put him on the path. Logan's mind is still fragile."
Magneto: "Is it? Or are you afraid of losing one of your precious X-men... old friend?"
Professor X: "Eric, what have you done?"
Magneto: "I'm sorry, Charles. I couldn't help it."
Professor X: "What have you told Stryker?"
Magneto: [sighs] "Everything. The war has begun."
Professor X: "Scott!"
Magneto: "You should've killed me when you had the chance!"

This scene basically sets up the new battle that's happening in X2, as the X-Men are put on the defensive by William Stryker (Brian Cox).
Anger and Faith (X2: X-Men United)
Nightcrawler: "You know, outside the circus, most people were afraid of me. But I didn't hate them. I pitied them. Do you know why? Because most people will never know anything beyond what they see with their own two eyes."
Storm: "Well, I gave up on pity a long time ago."
Nightcrawler: "Someone so beautiful should not be so angry."
Storm: "Sometimes anger can help you survive."
Nightcrawler: "So can faith."

Faith has it’s place, but Storm is totally motivated by her fury. Whatever works!

We're Still Working on That (X2: X-Men United)
Wolverine: "Who's this guy?"
Rogue: "This is Bobby, he's my..."
Bobby: "I'm her boyfriend."
[shakes Logan's hand and freezes it]
Bobby: "Call me Iceman."
Wolverine: "Boyfriend? So how do you guys...?"
Bobby: "Well, we're still working on that."

Yeah, tough situation there Rogue. Thinking this isn’t gonna be a really affectionate hookup.

Mankind Fears What It Doesnt Understand (X-Men)
Magneto: "Are you a God-fearing man, Senator? That is such a strange phrase. I've always thought of God as a teacher; a bringer of light, wisdom, and understanding. You see, I think what you really fear is me. Me and my kind. The Brotherhood of Mutants. Oh, it's not so surprising really. Mankind has always feared what it doesn't understand. Well, don't fear God, Senator, and certainly don't fear me. Not any more."

With one line: "Mankind has always feared what it doesn't understand," Magneto manages to sum things up nicely. Well, not so nicely, but he gets the point across in his own mutant-terrorist way.

Wheels (X-Men)
Professor X: "Ah, Logan. I'd like you to meet Orono Monroe, also called Storm. This is Scott Summers, also called Cyclops. They saved your life. I believe you already know Dr. Jean Grey. You are in my School for the Gifted for Mutants. You'll be safe here from Magneto."
Wolverine: "What's a Magneto?"
Professor X: "A very powerful mutant. He believes that a war is brewing between mutants and the rest of humanity. I've been following his activities for some time. The man who attacked you is an associate of his called Sabertooth."
Wolverine: "Sabertooth?" [looks at Storm] "Storm." [looks at Xavier] "What do they call you? 'Wheels'? This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard."

Can you really blame Wolverine for his hesitation? I mean one minute you're just living your life, the next you're at a school for "gifted" mutants being introduced to people called "Storm" and such.

I Can’t Touch My Boyfriend Without Killing Him (X-Men: The Last Stand)
Iceman: "You don't seem fine; you seem like you're avoiding me. I mean, something's wrong."
Rogue: "What's wrong is I can't touch my boyfriend without killing him. Other than that, I'm wonderful."
Iceman: "Hey, I don't think that's fair. Have I ever put any pressure on you?"
Rogue: "You're a guy, Bobby. Your mind's only on one thing."

Remember your first love issues? Bet they weren’t nearly this complicated. Mutants, though, seem to have the same issues we all have - just with a really deadly twist.

Wolverine in a Nutshell (X-Men: First Class)
Magneto: Excuse me, I'm Erik Lehnsherr.
Professor X: Charles Xavier.
Wolverine: Go f*ck yourself.

Logan has always been a rebel and a loner. His cameo in the prequel manages to convey his lone-wolf status with a single line that underlines just why Wolverine is the single most popular mutant around.

Magneto's Mega-Speech (X-Men: Days of Future Past)
Magneto: "You built these weapons to destroy us. Why? Because you are afraid of our gifts. Because we are different. Humanity has always feared that which is different. Well, I'm here to tell you, to tell the world, you're right to fear us! We are the future! We are the ones who will inherit this earth! And anyone who stands in our way will suffer the same fate as these men you see before you! Today was meant to be a display of your power. Instead, I give you a glimpse of the devastation my race can unleash upon yours! Let this be a warning to the world. And to my mutant brothers and sisters out there, I say this: no more hiding. No more suffering. You have lived in the shadows in shame and fear for too long. Come out. Join me. Fight together in a brotherhood of our kind! A new tomorrow, that starts today!"

Once you've dropped a baseball stadium around the White House, what can you do to really wow everybody watching on TV? Well, if you're Magneto, then speechify like this, with a monologue that really ought to be followed by a mutant mic drop.

Who Will You Stand With? (X-Men: The Last Stand)
Mutant Organizer: "This cure is voluntary. Nobody's is talking about extermination."
Magneto: "No one ever talks about it. They just do it. And you go on with your lives, ignoring the signs all around you. And then, one day, when the air is still and the night has fallen, they come for you."
Mutant Organizer: "Excuse me, but..."
Magneto: "It's only that you realize, while you were talking about organizing and committees, the extermination has already begun. Make no mistake, my brothers. They will draw first blood. They will force their cure upon us. The only question is, will my brotherhood and fight, or wait for the inevitable genocide? Who will you stand with - the humans... or us?"

This is one of those times when you can't help but think that maybe the bad guy is actually right.
