American Sniper Movie Quotes
“American Sniper” movie quotes bring the autobiography of the same name written by decorated sniper Chris Kyle to the big screen. The action-war film was directed by Clint Eastwood using a screenplay adapted by Jason Dean Hall. After a premiere at the American Film Institute Festival, “American Sniper” opened in theaters on December 25, 2014.

In “American Sniper,” the true story of Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper) as a highly successful military sniper in Iraq and as a man struggling to be a good husband and father when home in the states is told. Chris, during four tours in Iraq as a member of the SEAL Team 3 in the Naval Special Warfare Command, became the most lethal sniper in American military history with 160 confirmed kills. This gave him quite a legendary reputation both among his own allies, as someone who was always there to keep them safe, and to enemy combatants, who placed a steep bounty on his head.

But aside from his military life, Kyle also struggled with life at home, specifically with wife Taya (Sienna Miller) and their two children. As Chris felt the obligation to serve his country by returning to Iraq, Taya disagreed, citing needing him there for his family instead. This all led Chris to fight two battles, one at home and one abroad.

“American Sniper” is just one of several stellar films in theaters for the 2014 holiday season alongside ”The Interview,” ”Unbroken,” ”The Gambler,” ”The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” ”Annie,” ”Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb,” ”Mr. Turner,” "Life Partners," "Comet," "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1," and "Horrible Bosses 2.
American Sniper Movie Quotes,

They Feel Invincible With You Up There
Chris Kyle: “I tell you something. These Marines keep rushing in like they’re doing, they’re going to get their asses shot off.”
Marc Lee: “Well, they’re Marines. They don’t get the training we do. Half these guys were civilians six months ago.”
Chris Kyle: “Well, let’s coach ‘em up. I’ll show them how team guys do it. I’ll lead the unit of the street.”
Marc Lee: “No, I can’t do that. We need you on over watch.”
Chris Kyle: “Come on, if I’m on the street, Marc…”
Marc Lee: “House to house is the deadliest job here, man. You got some sort of savior complex?”
Chris Kyle: “I just want to get the bad guys but if I can’t see them, I can’t shoot them.”
Marc Lee: “Look, all these guys, they know your name. They feel invincible with you up there.”
Chris Kyle: “They’re not.”
Marc Lee: “They are if they think they are. Why don’t you just keep banging on the long gun. We’ll let these dogs sniff out Zarcali.”

Chris pleads with Marc for permission to leave his sniper post in favor of helping the Marines learn the ropes on the ground. Marc denies the request, noting that Chris has become a legend as a sniper, one that gives every other man on the ground a sense of safety knowing he is there watching over them.
I'm Willing to Meet My Creator
Doctor: “Do you ever think that you might have done some things over there that you wish you hadn’t?”
Chris Kyle: “I’m willing to meet my creator and answer every shot that I took.”

Chris speaks to a military doctor after one of his tours in Iraq. The doctor tries to get him to open up and talk about those he has killed in battle, fearing that this will cause him stress at home but Chris seems to have peace with his actions, at least he says as much.
Your Call
Chris Kyle: “I’ve got a military age male on a cell phone watching the convoy. Over.”
Command: “If you think he’s reporting troop movement, you have a green light. Your call. Over.”
Winston: “Maybe he’s just calling his old lady.”
Chris Kyle: “He stepped off. Hold on, I’ve got a woman and a kid 200 yards out, moving towards the convoy. Her arms aren’t swinging. she’s carrying something. Yeah, she’s got a grenade. She’s got an RKG, Russian grenade, she’s handing to the kid.”
Command: “You say a woman and a kid?”
Chris Kyle: “You got eyes on this? Can you confirm?”
Command: “Negative, your call”
Winston: “They fry you if you’re wrong.”

On post, Chris sees a potential enemy threat in a woman and child in the street ahead. Without other eyes on the area, Chris is left to decide on his own if he should take the shot or not.
You Did Your Part
Taya Renae Kyle: “Do you want to die? Is that what it is?”
Chris Kyle: “No”
Taya Renae Kyle: “Then just tell me. Tell me why you do it. I want to understand.”
Chris Kyle: “Babe, I do it for you. You know that. I do it to protect you.”
Taya Renae Kyle: “No, you don’t.”
Chris Kyle: “Yes, I do.”
Taya Renae Kyle: “I’m here. Your family is here. Your children have no father.”
Chris Kyle: “Well, I have to serve my country.”
Taya Renae Kyle: “You don’t know when to quit! You did your part! We sacrificed enough! You let somebody else go!”
Chris Kyle: “Let somebody else go?”
Taya Renae Kyle: “Yeah”
Chris Kyle: “Babe, I couldn’t live with myself.”
Taya Renae Kyle: “Yeah, well, you find a way. You have to. Okay, I need you to be human again. I need you here. I need you here.”

Chris and wife Taya discuss his desire to return for yet another tour in Iraq. While he feels an obligation to serve his country, Taya feels that his family and his children need him home.
