Cinderella 2015 movie quotes bring the classic story from the Charles Perrault fairy tale back to theaters for a live-action remake. The Disney film was directed by Kenneth Branagh using a screenplay by Aline Brosh McKenna and Chris Weitz. Cinderella opened in theaters in the United States on March 13, 2015.
In Cinderella, the young Ella (Eloise Webb and Lily James) is seen with her late mother (Hayley Atwell) learning that the key to living a good life is to be courageous and kind. Later, Ella's father (Ben Chaplin) marries Lady Tremaine (Cate Blanchett) at which time Ella joins a family with two stepsisters (Sophie McShera and Holliday Grainger). Neither Ella's stepmother nor her stepsisters treat her well, which, after her father dies, makes Ella's life living with them far from a fairy tale. Ella does, however, meet a man, the handsome Prince Charming (Richard Madden).
So when Ella is shunned from attending a ball at the Prince's palace, she is hurt but soon meets her Fairy Godmother (Helena Bonham Carter). The Fairy Godmother transforms Ella into a gorgeous princess and sends her off to the ball, but with some conditions, including that this fantasy will end at midnight. Ella reunites with Prince Charming at the ball, a budding relationship that the King (Derek Jacobi) and Lady Tremaine later conspire to destroy. Without the glitz and glamor, it's up to Ella and Prince Charming to try to rise above the adversity, if they can.
Cinderella 2015 joins theaters some 65 years after the original Disney edition. It opens alongside other great March 2015 movies such as Unfinished Business, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Chappie, and The Lazarus Effect.
Cinderella 2015 Movie Quotes,
A Ragged Servant Girl
Drizella: Cinder-wench!
Anastasia: Dirty-Ella!
Drizella: Cinder-Ella! That's what we'll call you.
Lady Tremaine: Oh girls, you're so clever!
...
Lady Tremaine: A ragged servant girl is what you are and what you will always be.
Ella is picked on by her stepsisters and evil stepmother. They call her names, including Cinderella, which later becomes her less-than-flattering nickname.
You Will Be King Soon
Captain: Wake up, Your Royal Highness. You're in a daze.
Prince Charming: It's that wonderful girl. I can't stop thinking about her.
...
King: You will be King soon. A Prince is not free to follow his heart. He must marry for the good of the kingdom.
Prince Charming is smitten with Ella and cannot stop thinking about her. Unfortunately for him, as he will soon be King, his love life is not subject to his input meaning a life with Ella is not in the cards.
Madam Will Do
Lady Tremaine: Wouldn't you prefer to eat when all the work is done, Ella?
Ella: Yes, stepmother
Lady Tremaine: Oh, you needn't call me that. Madam will do.
Ella and stepmother Lady Tremaine do not have the best relationship as it's quite one-sided. Lady Tremaine treats Ella as though she is hired help rather than a member of their family.
Where There is Kindness
Ella's Mother: Where there is kindness, there is goodness. And where there is goodness, there is magic.
In more words of wisdom, Ella's mother reinforces how to bring good to her world. She remarks that kindness brings out goodness, which brings out magic. Ella doesn't yet know how true these words would later become.
You'll Be Safe
Ella's Father: She'll merely be your stepmother and you'll have two lovely sisters to keep you company so I'll know, as far away as I may be, you'll be safe.
Ella's father explains to her the benefits of having a stepmother and two stepsisters. He sees it as safety for Ella, but Ella is not convinced, and for good reason.
Have Courage and Be Kind
Ella's Mother: I want to tell you a secret that will see you through all the trials that life can offer. Have courage and be kind.
In a moment when Ella was a young girl, her mother shares a few words of wisdom. It was this advice, to be courageous and kind, formed Ella into the caring adult she later became.
My Mother's Old Dress
Ella: It was my mother's old dress.
Lady Tremaine: It would be an insult to take you to the palace dressed in these old rags. You shall not go to the ball!
When Ella tries to honor her mother by dressing in a gown of her mother's, her gesture is quickly ripped to shreds, literally, by her evil stepmother. This act is devastating to Ella, who wants nothing more than to look fabulous at the ball and pay tribute to her mother at the same time.
They're All Looking At You
Ella: They're all looking at you.
Prince Charming: Believe me, they're all looking at you.
Upon arriving at the ball, Ella remarks that everyone is looking at her Prince Charming. He correct her, noting they are looking at her, not him.
Fairy Godmother
Fairy Godmother: Excuse me, why are you crying?
Ella: Who are you?
Fairy Godmother: Whew, that's better!
Ella: My fairy godmother!
...
Fairy Godmother: Now, where's mice?
...
Ella: They're made of glass?
Fairy Godmother: And you find they're really comfortable... Now off you go, for you shall go to the ball... Remember, at the last stroke of midnight, the spell will be broken and all will return to what is was before.
Upset over not attending the ball, Ella encounters an old beggar outside, a woman who soon transforms into Ella's Fairy Godmother. Within moments, Ella too transforms, into a princess ready to make a head-turning entrance at the ball.
Just Because It's What's Done...
Prince Charming: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Are you all right?
Ella: I'm all right but you've nearly frightened the life out of him.
Prince Charming: Who?
Ella: The stag
Prince Charming: But we were hunting, you see. It's what's done.
Ella: Just because it's what's done, doesn't mean it's what should be done.
Prince Charming: You're right... I hope to see you again, miss.
Ella: And I you.
Ella and Prince Charming meet deep in the forest while he is out hunting. They are instantly smitten with one another but sadly must leave one another, at least for the moment.
